Ipad Watercolors On the Road
Here are a few 'watercolors' I did recently on the ipad using the 'Paper by 53 app." As it turns out, painting on the ipad with this app is really fun, and has nice results. I did some of these sketches while in the car. This is a great way to do sketching on the go!
You can read more about my adventure with ipad sketching in this earlier post and see more of my digital sketching if you are interested. Happy New Year to my Paint Party Friday visitors! Thanks so much for stopping by.

Happy New Year!
Happy PPF!
Gosh that tree sketch really came out beautifully... and I am going to have to steal Sinus' ipad and have a play I think...xx
ReplyDeleteLovelies, awesome foggy atmosphere!
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful! Do you use a stylus, or just a fingertip?
ReplyDeleteHappy Paint Party Friday!
I have a stylus, although I think I need to research it more, and find a better one. Details are difficult with a foam tip.
Deletegreat results on your ipad. Happy PPF, Annette x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shades that vary. They feel like blankets of gray and green. I don't have any art apps and I'm super excited about what you've achieved with an app--I've got to check it out! :)
ReplyDeleteOMGosh, this looks exactly what I was searching for more than 25 years ago. I finally gave up. YAY, I am definitely looking into this. Thank you so very much. Blessings, Janet PPF
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful -- I can't believe they were done on your iPad. Happy New Year and PPF!
ReplyDeleteWonderful sketches! I have a sketching app on my Android tablet but I never think to use it.
ReplyDeleteThese are incredible! I want that app! I had no idea I could paint on my iPad! Do you do this with a stylist(pointer) or just your finger? Going to check out your other post! Thanks for sharing!! How exciting! HPPF!
ReplyDeleteDebbie, these are wonderful! And I can't believe you did these on an i pad! OMG! Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone! I am amazed at this, too! I had no idea how good the sketches would look. They look great printed out, too, which is also amazing to me.
Deleteoh, wow! this is so neat!
ReplyDeletep.s. i'd love to see your flickr photos!! let me know where to find you :)
ReplyDeleteAnother friend just started using this app. It really does simulate watercolor well. I love this painting, and it's the perfect way to be able to paint when you can't actually paint.
ReplyDeleteYou have definitely got control of your app on the ipad, me...I still need to practice on it. I have the same programme, but somehow it won't cooperate yet! lol. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteHow clever is that .... and you!
ReplyDeleteI don't have an ipad ! hmmmm......
I love what you have done :)

I know nothing of the Ipad or apps but what I do know is that I love your results-fantastic! Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteWow, I would not have guessed these were done digitally. Love the results you are achieving. Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to check out the link because I have NO idea what you did. The "watercolors" are gorgeous. Can you print them off or is this a one-time viewing?
ReplyDeleteI have been resisting the digital art but the ipad drawings seem to be really popular nowadays. I like the transparency of your work, especially of the tree. Really good sketches.
ReplyDeleteI've been resisting it too, but it is fun. I need paper, paint, and mess to be completely happy, though!
DeleteI think half the people I know are using these now and I don't even know what one looks like! Great results!
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful. I know there is so much more that I can do with my IPad. Thank you for this info. I am now off to learn more about the App.
ReplyDeleteOoh lovely. I need to have a go at this!
ReplyDeleteThis would be why I want an ipad...this and this alone!! Beautiful sketches...I'll be reading the other post too!! Happy New year!! Happy digital creating too!!

There is no excuse now for not doing some kind of Art even when busy. :) Fun work. Nice to know you still need the paper and stuff in hand to be totally happy. I fear a world of only Digital stuff. :)
ReplyDeleteSo nice! You're inspiring me to try on my iPad! :)
ReplyDelete♥♥♥
Happy PPF!!

Gosh what fun. I am not an ipad person, but I do like these. Happy PPF from across the pond.
ReplyDeleteYou've been having fun and it's great to try out something new, the light in these pieces gives such an effect, I love them!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Love the tree. :)
ReplyDeletethese look absolutely marvelous. Say, I just saw in my art catalogue today for the first time.. Sensu, the artist brush you can use on iPad for $40!!! I was really amazed
ReplyDeleteOh how fun! These are so pretty. I love the tree! :)
ReplyDeleteDebbie, I liked what you did with this so much I bought the app. But how do you SAVE the paintings? I can't find where to do that!! Thanks. Lynn
ReplyDeleteHi Lynn, The drawings save automatically in the different 'books' unless you delete them. To get them out of Paper to somewhere else, you have to use the "share" feature, which you can only use when you are out of the actual drawing screen -- does that make sense? It gives you various options for sharing. I've been choosing "camera roll" and then using an app called "Photo Toaster" to edit and upload to my Flickr account. Good luck!
DeleteThese are lovely. I was surprised that they were done on an ipad. I particularly like the "On The Road" one. Gillian.
