White-faced woman -- mixed media portrait


I've been participating in Ayala Art's 29 Faces Challenge this month. At this point, I am quite sure I will not make it to 29 faces this month. This is face #11. I drew and painted, drew and painted, ending up with a rather crazy, or shall we say expressionist palette. I am still finding my way with acrylics, alternately loving then hating them, but hopefully getting better as I practice more. Today's painting session was very enjoyable. I opened up my container of little collage scraps and found some fun pieces to add for some additional interest and fun.

    She's wonderful! I love her blue hair so very much. I love acrylics, but sometimes they're quite challenging. I would never make it to 29 in 29 days if I were painting all new paintings for it! You're doing great.

    I think your face is wonderful. I am so glad that you enjoyed your painting today. Although I love it when a painting turns out just as I hoped, it is even more special when I have enjoyed the whole process.

      Thanks, Adrienne - I drew with pencil and the blue is all painting. I surprised even myself with that!

    I love how all the textures and wonder of her personality show in your piece. Very cool! I've entered challenges where I can't keep up for whatever reason, but the act of doing as much as I can teaches me quite a lot. It's about the doing and what you learn along the way, not the end result. Cheers!

    wonderful portrait Debbie! I love the combination of paints and collage. It doesn't matter whether or not you finish the challenge-or even how long it might take you. It's all about arting and learning with each experience.Happy PPF!
