Going in Circles: Exploring a Theme
This month I've been having a lot of fun exploring the theme of circles with the Sketchbook Challenge group. I've been doodling and using circles to create abstract compositions. In some, I've incorporated collage elements.

These are great! That second photo is seriously making me want to paint something/anything with blues and browns--so cool.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!! I think the brown comes from walnut ink.
DeleteGetting dizzy with all these circles! LOL I like the turquoise blue the best if I had to choose~ All are fun.
ReplyDeleteHPPF!
there are some wonderful works here, and the second one is my favourite... I had to scroll up and have another look at it... just wonderful... xx
ReplyDeleteI love your circles. I love the strip of text paper running over one of the circles like a river. And the blue one is stunning.
ReplyDeleteExcellent and very creative art work ~ 'going in circles' ~~ thanks, ^_^ (A Creative Harbor)

Lots of fun ways to include circles in art. :) Love it!
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by to comment on my horse. I really like your blue collage. It looks/feels like I am looking down through bubbles in water to glass bowls submerged.
ReplyDeleteLove them all Debbie!, especially the last one with the book page. I will have to head over and participate in the Sketchbook Challenge. I forgot about it for this month being wrapped up in my own stuff! Happy PPF! :-)
ReplyDeleteLove them all. Love your blue collage. Very nice blues. Circles of life. Thank you Debbie. Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteThere's just something about circles that are so darn appealing. Yours are no exception! Happy PPF! #3 Robin Panzer Art Studio 33
ReplyDeleteI love your circle theme! The yellow are my favorite. Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteInteresting circle pages! I haven't done the sketchbook challenge is several months. Not sure why, but I need to get back to it.
ReplyDeleteAll of your circles are fabulous and so different. I love the third one best, the colours are fantastic. Great theme.

It looks like a fun exercise - painting circles. Several PPFers this week are doing circle themes. Beautiful colors in all of them, but my very favorite is the middle one.
ReplyDeleteI really love all of these but especially the third one. The colors are so pretty and I loved the way the lines seemed to flow.
ReplyDeleteFantastic job! Beautifully expressive paintings!!
ReplyDeleteI like the third one down best. I can visualize a hat and maybe a frog. :) Reminds me of some who make Madellas and some Zentangles out of circles. HPPF
ReplyDeleteSuch different results with the different techniques. The mix of black ink and watercolours is very eye catching. I´m also attracted to the collaged one because they are in line with my own style. :)
ReplyDeleteP.S: just noticed your FB link at the end of the page! Going over to "like" your art even more. :)
ReplyDeleteI just love the composition of your circles! Very beautiful! I can only bet they are so much fun to do!! Great color too!!
ReplyDeleteHugs Giggles
I cannot but love these!!!
ReplyDeleteLike how you have managed to get so many different circles. I normally join in Sketchbook Challenge but felt this month would take too much of my time - hope to join in next month, thanks for reminding me.
ReplyDeleteAnn, I've been admiring your work in the Sketchbook Challenge this year. Your watercolors are so good! I'm interested in abstract composition right now, so I'm really loving the July theme. Hope to see you return when you're less busy.
DeleteI love peeks into other artists' sketch books! I find it hard to consistently work in one of my own, so I always admire others who do.
ReplyDeleteReally cool and interesting paintings!
ReplyDeleteWhat Anne said! Love what you did with all these circles and the different ways you've arranged them and left negative space. I wonder if most people understand how hard it is to get circles just right.
ReplyDeleteWow, you've been busy being super creative! All of them are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThese are amazing, and they all look like you were having fun, which is so important, I think.
ReplyDeleteCircles appear to be the theme lately. I absolutely am in love with the hat and sunglasses. Blessings, Janet PPF
ReplyDeleteBtw, love your 'mantra'-- the only perfect time--in fact the ONLY time--we have, is now.
ReplyDeleteAhhh, I love circles. You've really created some beautiful pieces here! Well done.
