Beyond Self Interest: Small Mixed Media Collage


Another busy week! But I did squeeze in some time to work on some small mixed media collages. This one is collage and watercolor. I'm quite new to collage and love integrating text, patterns & textures with paint. It appeals to my love of a process-oriented approach as well, letting the composition unfold and surprise me along the way. The title jumped out at me from the text -- creating a gentle reminder.

    I love the letting it unfold as it goes approach and this is really sweet... I really like the leaves at the top and love the colour palette xx

    This is beautiful. I love the way the feather on the left feels so perfectly part of the composition. Your collages breathe...that's so rare. I am bone weary of collages that look like the floor of a 13 year old girl's closet.
