May Creative Color Challenge: Pink

At Creative Color Challenge, artist Louse Gale assigns a different color for each month of the year. May's theme was pink, admittedly a color I don't work in very often. It took me some to find inspiration. I opened a recent Coldwater Creek catalog and there it was, glorious pink on almost every page. And before I knew it, a series of pink collages was born. To create the backgrounds for my collages, I first drew with charocoal and painted with watercolors and caran d'ache which happens to make some gorgeous pink and rosy tones. I continued to paint and draw on my collages until I was happy with them. You can see my pink series here. What fun this was! Thank you, Louise for hosting this enjoyable way to push ourselves beyond our comfort zone.

  1. I Like these...pink in flowers is pretty...I have pink hollyhocks and pink hydrangeas in my yard...my daughter in law hates pink and when she was pregnant with her daughter asked for NO pink clothes for her please...I knit a peach sweater.
But pink is pretty and you did well in mixing it up here in your collages!
